While many eye diseases that cause low vision remain incurable, today we are better able to compensate and adapt than ever before. We are committed to being at the forefront of low vision therapy, incorporating new technologies and practices whenever possible.

Eyesight preservation

The foundation of any low vision therapy program is to stabilize and retain visual acuity. We perform regular eye exams and closely monitor any diseases or conditions contributing to your low vision. Where management therapies are available, we will help implement them to improve your quality of life.

Adaptation therapy

Where possible, we will coach you through new processes and routines to help you perform daily tasks independently. These vary according to each patient’s level of visual acuity and needs.

Modern tools and technology

Magnification is but one way we can make things easier to see. Today, there are more options than ever before with respect to modifying images and text to be larger and clearer. We will assess your needs and provide recommendations for:

  • Low vision reading glasses, in powers up to +80 diopters.
  • Video magnifiers, both as portable and permanent solutions. These can be used to look at objects, printed materials, the television, and more. Many people use video magnifiers to assist with personal hygiene, cooking, and leisure activities.
  • Glare control solutions that will make it easier see; usually found as eyeglasses, we have options suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
  • Computer accessibility options can greatly assist someone with low vision. We will work with you to configure your technology to help facilitate your professional and personal goals.
