Eye Diseases & Conditions

Every year, millions of people around the world suffer from eye health problems that can result in a loss of vision and even blindness. Unfortunately, many common eye diseases and eye conditions don't display any symptoms until later stages, at which point it may be too late. That's why it's important to get regular eye exams so that any eye diseases or eye conditions can be detected early on and treatment be made available.

Eye Floaters

Eye floaters are small moving spots that may appear in your field of vision and are particularly noticeable when you look at bright lights, or single colour objects (such as a piece of white paper or the sky).

While eye floaters can be incredibly annoying, they generally don't interfere with your sight and many people learn to live with them, with the condition often improving over time.

Eye floaters can, however, be indicative of a more serious condition, particularly if they're accompanied by sudden flashes of light or a sudden lose of peripheral vision. If you experience these symptoms, or want to learn more about eye floaters, you should book an appointment with an FYidoctors optometrist.
