We are a full spectrum Optometry Clinic in Brantford, providing compassionate family eye care in a modern comfortable setting conveniently located in downtown Brantford. Our location boasts over 3000 square feet of designer inspired office setting. Dr. Schuster, Dr. Bechtold and Dr. Shi place patient care as a priority, and the friendly staff will make your visit to the office a satisfying experience. Your eye examination will include a health history, comprehensive eye health examination with the use of OPTOMAP digital retinal imaging, full measure of your refraction (glasses prescription if necessary), binocular evaluation (how well your eyes work together) and counseling on our findings. Medical management of eye disease can be done on site for glaucoma, infections and other ocular conditions, as well as referral to eye surgeons on an as necessary basis.
Our optometrists specialize in the design of fully personalized “free form” lenses for you. If your need is for single vision or multifocal lenses we can custom design lenses to any specific frame to reduce aberrations from lenses to give you the best vision possible.
Dr. Schuster graduated from The School of Optometry at University of Waterloo in 1982, and became a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry in 1988. Private optometric practice in Brantford Ontario over 35 years, with special interests medical optometry and contact lenses.
Dr. Schuster has been a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and Canadian Association of Optometrists since 1982. He has also served on the council of the College of Optometrists of Ontario, as well as chairing various committees such as Complaints, Patient Relations, Discipline, Quality Assurance, Registration and served on Executive.
Dr. James Bechtold, originally from the United States, is a graduate of Indiana University School of Optometry. He has practiced optometry for 20 years including in Missouri, and in Chicago, Illinois before moving to Brantford in 2011.
Much of his time in Chicago was spent serving children and adults with developmental disabilities. He has been a partner with Dr. Schuster since 2014. He and his family live in the Brantford area.
