I have trained and practiced optometry in Europe, the USA, and Canada for over 18 years. The experience working in a variety of clinics, including veteran affairs in the United States, has given me a solid foundation and a deeper understanding of the needs of my patients from all demographics.
With my family based practice in the west end of Edmonton, my priorities are the needs and values of my patients and to provide them with the best in eye health care – with a personal touch. This is obtained through the extra time taken with each of my patients to understand their individual visual needs. I am fluent in English, Hindi and Punjabi: this has allowed me broaden the scope of my practice to a multicultural level.
I have actively participated with the Alberta Association and College of Optometrists in volunteering to give presentations at schools and other venues. As part of my family practice acumen, I am well versed in pediatric optometry, contact lens technology and laser surgery consultation.
My personal interest in style and fashion is evident in the choices and variety of eyewear that is available here at Urban Optik. We are committed to providing state of the art vision care and contributing to a lifetime of healthy eyes by staying at the forefront of technology.
I have been privileged to be involved in an eye care mission to the Philippines where our team performed 5500 eye examinations in two weeks! We gave out more than 7000 pairs of glasses to the less fortunate. Click here to see my Philippines Mission Trips to view pictures and how you can help on my next mission and Click here to see our team´s second mission trip to Ecuador in November 2013 where our team of 20 saw over 4500 patients in 10 days.
We dispensed over 5000 pairs of glasses and saw a lot of disease and treated a lot of patients with minor infections. It was an amazing experience and I can’t wait to go on my next mission trip!!
If you have any old glasses you would like to donate please drop them off at our office for me to use on my next mission. Many thanks!
