Dr. Thomas-A Noël graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Ottawa in 1996. He then pursued his studies at the University of Montreal School of Optometry and graduated with a Doctorate in Optometry in 2000. After graduation, Dr. Noël did an externship at the Syracuse Veteran Hospital Department of Ophthalmology in Syracuse, New York, in conjunction with the Eye Consultants of Syracuse. Dr. Noël moved back to his home town of Ottawa in 2001, where he has his own optometry practice.
Dr. Thomas Noël developed a keen interest in Laser Vision Correction and was hired by Dr. Edmison, Focus Eye Center’s Medical Director, in May 2001 to oversee the ophthalmic care of Focus Eye Center’s laser vision patients. He has given numerous lectures on Laser Vision Correction and acted as the liaison between co-managing Optometrists and Focus Eye Center from 2003 to 2007.
Dr. Thomas Noël was the President of the Ottawa Society of Optometrists from 2001-2004. He was elected in 2008 as Provincial Council Member of the College of Optometrists of Ontario. He chaired the Registration Committee and the Discipline Committee of the College of Optometrists of Ontario and sat on the Executive Committee of the College of Optometrists of Ontario from 2010-2017. Dr. Noël was the President of the College of Optometrists of Ontario from 2015-2017. Dr. Noël has also been an examiner from 2002 to 2007 for the Canadian Standard Assessment in Optometry (C.S.A.O.) Exams in Optometry.
He was the Co-Chair of the Eye Health Council of Ontario (EHCO) from 2010 to 2016, which regroups optometrists and ophthalmologists which have a mandate to improve the delivery and quality of eye care in the Province of Ontario. Dr. Thomas Noël is presently the chair of the Quality Assurance Committee of the College of Optometrists of Ontario. He also is a director of the Champlain LHIN Vision Task Force since 2016.
Dr. Thomas Noël joined the practice in 2005 and is presently the owner of the clinic which is partners with FYi. He is presently a member of the FYi Advisory Committee. Dr. Noël offers bilingual service in English and in French to all his patients, and can also prescribe medications for eye infections. Dr Noël is the son of Dr Leon-Paul Noël, who is a well-known Pediatric Ophthalmologist. Dr Leon-Paul Noël worked at the children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario for 20 years, before joining SUNY (State University of New York) as the program director of the Residency Program in Ophthalmology.
Dr. Hapke graduated from the school of Optometry at the University of Waterloo in 1991. For the past several years, Dr. Hapke has been practicing optometry at the McLeod Optometry Clinic. Dr. Hapke enjoys assisting patients of all ages and endeavors to work with them to achieve their optimal visual health and is bilingual in English and German. Dr. Hapke is a member in good standing with the College of Optometrists of Ontario, the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Ottawa Society of Optometrists.
During her free time, Dr. Hapke enjoys volunteering, scrapbooking, gardening and spending time outdoors with her family.
Dr. Muggeridge has been with the McLeod Optometry team since 2010. As an optometry student he worked at McLeod as a technician before joining the team as a doctor when he graduated in 2013. He completed his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo where he graduated on the Dean's Honour list.
In his second year at Waterloo he had the opportunity to participate mission trip providing eye care to residents of a small village in northern Peru. Dr. Muggeridge has a special interest in ocular disease. While interning at Detroit's Wayne State VA Hospital during his 4th year of studies he had the opportunity to diagnose and treat a wide range of eye disorders. Dr. Muggeridge is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and currently serves on the Political action committee. He enjoys writing and has written several articles for Ottawa Life Magazine. When he's not working you'll find him cycling or enjoying the company of his wife and two daughters. Dr. Muggeridge is passionate about providing friendly and high quality comprehensive care to all of his patients.
Originally from Toronto, Dr. Shainaz Moosa is now proud to call Ottawa her home. She completed her Bachelor of Science at McGill University and went on to obtain her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo in 2012. During her studies, she participated in a volunteer mission trip to Cameroon, where she helped provide eye care to underserviced patients. She also gained experience in treating eye disease while in Arizona, and interned in several private practices in Toronto.
Her clinical skills include examining patients of all ages, and observing for early signs of eye disease. She takes great interest in educating her patients about the maintenance of good eye health. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Ocular Nutrition Society.
When not at the clinic, Dr. Moosa enjoys cooking, taking acting classes and spending time with her niece and nephew. She is delighted to be part of the great team at McLeod Optometry.
