Meet Our Optometrists
Dr. Bishop completed her Honours Bachelor of Science in 1990 and continued at the University of Waterloo, earning her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1994. She has worked in Barrie as an associate and then opened her office in Parry Sound with Dr. Marshall in 1995. Dr. Bishop has been a Board Member of the Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists.
Dr. Bishop is very interested in children’s vision and ocular disease. She is trained in co-management of PRK and LASIK surgery and is affiliated with TLC laser centers and Barrie Lasik Center. She has her license for prescribing therapeutic pharmaceutical agents for ocular disease. Dr. Bishop is active in her community and enjoys running, skiing and boating with her husband and two children.
Dr. Marshall is originally from London, Ontario where his family still resides. After completing secondary school, he attended the University of Western Ontario receiving a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. In 1994, he graduated with his doctorate in optometry at the University of Waterloo.
While in optometry, he gained a keen interest in contact lenses, sports vision and anterior segment disease. Dr. Marshall studied in Calgary during his externship, working with two world class eye surgeons; Dr. Robert Mitchell and Dr. Howard Gimbel. Dr. Marshall has sat on the provincial board of directors for the ontario association of optometrists as well as the national board for the optometric network; Eyerecommends. He is TPA certified and accredited as a continuing education speaker.
Dr. Marshall grew up playing numerous organized sports and still enjoys playing hockey, golfing, boating, water skiing, winter skiing, and now playing with Taylor and Liam. He has made Parry sound his home and is delighted to be part of this community.
Dr. Stewart earned her Doctor of Optometry with honors at the University of Waterloo, after receiving her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Guelph. She received her ocular disease and therapeutics training at Baltimore’s OMNI Eye Specialists, and completed clinical rotations in pediatrics, binocular vision and contact lens care. Dr. Stewart enjoys traveling and has provided eye care at non-profit clinics in Kenya and Honduras. She is a member of the College of Optometrists of Ontario and the Ontario Association of Optometrists. Dr. Stewart is a longtime summer resident of Parry Sound and enjoys boating, fishing and snowmobiling in her free time.
