Salmon & Dill Pizza

There's nothing quite like taking that first bite of salmon. The rich flavours and unique texture make it one of the most popular seafood dishes in Canada. But there's another great reason to reach for an extra helping of salmon: it's also great for your eye health.

That's because salmon contains large amounts of omega-3 fatty acids, which studies have found may help protect your eyes from macular degeneration and dry eye syndrome.

So what are you waiting for? Try this mouth-watering smoked salmon pizza recipe for a decadent meal that's also great for your eyes.



Refrigerated pizza dough (pre-bought or made from scratch)

Olive oil

3/4 cup low fat cream cheese

1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice

3 oz. smoked salmon (or cooked fresh salmon)

1/4 cup sliced white onion

3 tbsp. fresh chopped dill

3 tbsp. capers



1. Let your prepared pizza dough sit at room temperature for 15 minutes and then roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface into a circle roughly 14-inches wide.

2. Place the dough onto a lightly oiled baking sheet and cook at 450 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until crisp. Let cool for 5 minutes. 

3. Combine the cream cheese, dill and lemon juice in a small bowl and spread the mixture onto the pizza.

4. Top the pizza with the smoked salmon, onion slices and capers.

5. Serve and enjoy!
