Raised in Alberta, Dr. Keddie returned to practice in Edmonton after graduating from the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry in 1990. During his 21 years in practice, Dr. Keddie has been actively involved in his profession as a Member of Council on the Alberta Association of Optometrists; past-President of the Alberta College of Optometry; and several volunteer eye care missions with Canadian Vision Care.
In 1999, he founded Advanced Eyecare and then, with his partner, Dr. Krochmal, joined FYidoctors in 2008. Dr. Keddie has four school-aged children and is married to Jill, a licenced optician who also works at our location. Shane and Jill love to travel (when they can find time!), read and watch movies.
Dr. Keddie continues to play league hockey, enjoys skiing and running, loves to read in his spare time and is a wine enthusiast.
After attending Red Deer College and the University of Alberta for his undergraduate studies, Dr. Krochmal went south of the border for his Optometry Degree. He graduated from the University of Berkely School of Optometry in 1996 and moved back to Edmonton to start his practice.
Dr. Krochmal has served on the Alberta College of Optometrists Registration Committee, The Alberta Association of Optometrists, AHW Working Group, and has volunteered on numerous eye care missions with Canadian Vision Care, The Lions Club, as well as with the Edmonton Boyle Street Community Centre. He's an outdoor adventurer and world traveller but calls Edmonton home.
