Born and raised in Regina, Dr. Sonya Hung completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Regina and received her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science. Part of her training was completed at the Veteran Affairs Medical Centre in Pennsylvania, in addition to various optometry clinics in Saskatchewan.
Dr. Hung provides comprehensive eye care for the entire family, including contact lens fittings, laser surgery consultations, cataract post-surgical care, detection and management of eye diseases as they relate to overall health, and children's eye examinations. She is a current member of the Saskatchewan Association of Optometrists (SAO), the Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO) and affiliated with Horizon Laser Vision Centre.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Hung has volunteered on eye care missions throughout Central America and for the Canadian Examiners in Optometry, now known as the Optometry Examining Board of Canada. Personally, she enjoys movies, the outdoors, travelling, and most recently, parenthood.
