Dr. Dean Willoughby
Dr. Dean Willoughby grew up in Red Deer and went on to earn a psychology degree while playing varsity volleyball for the University of Calgary Dinos. He later completed his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Missouri–St. Louis in 1994.
Dr. Willoughby provides care for patients of all ages, with special interests in children’s vision, contact lenses, and senior eye health. He also provides eye care services for Red Deer College athletes and the Red Deer Rebels.
A member of both the Alberta Association of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists, Dr. Willoughby is also involved in the Eye See…Eye Learn® program, as well as the Better Sight, Better Grades program (now with FYidoctors) which provides free eyeglasses to kindergarten students.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Willoughby enjoys skiing (water, downhill, and cross-country), hiking, and travelling with his wife, Shauna, and their three children.
Dr. Jared Steblin
Dr. Steblin is originally from Prince George, BC. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Northern British Columbia before completing his Doctor of Optometry at the University of Waterloo. His training included externships across Ontario, Alberta, and Northern BC, as well as international eyecare trips to Honduras and Mexico.
Since graduating in 2016, Dr. Steblin has made Red Deer home with his wife. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys music and exploring Red Deer’s trails by rollerblading, cross-country skiing, biking, or hiking. More recently, he’s taken on the challenge of fixing up his first home—so you may spot him in a hardware store or two!
