Dr. Edward Takahashi earned his BSc from the University of Victoria in 1986 and Doctor of Optometry from Oregon’s Pacific University in 1989. He completed his preceptorship at Hickam Airforce Base in Hawaii.
He’s a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and recipient of the Irvin M. Borish award for his comparative study of the Goldmann Applanation Tonometer. He has also been recognized by the London Eye Centre for his dedication to laser refractive surgery patient care. As clinic director, Dr. Takahashi is happy and able to provide care in both English and Spanish.
He has spoken to the local diabetes foundation on the ocular manifestations of diabetes, the Rotary club, and volunteered as an on-call optometrist for the Canada Games, World Junior Hockey Championships and Western Canada Games. He has also mentored optometry students in the Kamloops area.
Outside of optometry, Dr. Takahashi’s interests include fishing, camping, automobiles, gardening, travelling, world cuisine, and caring for his koi pond.
