Dr. Shayani Chatterjee graduated with an Honours BSc from McMaster University before completing her doctorate at Boston’s prestigious New England College of Optometry. During this time, she externed at the Boston Medical Center, South Boston Community Health Center, Buffalo VA Hospital’s Low Vision/Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic and at the Providence Veterans Affairs Hospital in Rhode Island. Through this training she developed extensive skills in the treatment and management of ocular diseases, pre- and post-operative care in LASIK and cataract surgery, dry eye management and contact lens fittings.
Since graduating, Dr. Chatterjee has happily returned to her hometown of Toronto to practice. Her clinical interests include dry eye disease and myopia management, and she is TPA-certified in Ontario, making her able to prescribe therapeutics. Dr. Chatterjee is equally as passionate about serving eye care to underprivileged populations and has travelled to India with Unite for Sight to provide eye care for those less fortunate. She is also an active member of the College of Optometrists of Ontario and the Canadian Association of Optometry (CAO) and is board certified to practice in both the United States and Canada.
When not at the clinic, she can be found travelling, attending musical theatre, spinning or spending time with her dog, family and friends.
