Dr. Karim graduated from McMaster University in 2007 with an Honours Science Degree in Psychology with a Minor in Business. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry from Pacific University College of Optometry in 2011. Dr Karim's internship experiences took him all over the world, including to Germany for 3 months where he trained the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center. He also spent time at Icon Lasik in Denver to enhance his knowledge of Laser Eye surgery.
Dr. Karim is also very involved in international volunteer work; he has traveled to India, Honduras and Thailand on optometry missions to help those less fortunate receive the eyecare they need. Outside the office, Dr. Karim loves snowboarding and ice hockey but will participate in almost any physical activity.
Dr. Karim is currently a member of the Alberta College of Optometrists, the Alberta Association of Optometrists and the Calgary Society of Optometrists. He is excited to be practicing in the city where he grew up and helping the Calgary community with all their eyecare needs.
Dr. Laurie Dodds is a born and raised Albertan, originally from Edmonton. She graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1982. During her first years as an optometrist she practiced in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. In 1985 Laurie moved closer to home, settling in Calgary. She then operated a solo practice for 22 years before joining City Focus Optometry in 2007.
Laurie hopes to continue serving previous patients as well as new patients at her new location where there is more diverse coverage for unique patient needs. She has a special interest in finding the most suitable contact lenses for her patients. Other optometric interests of hers are vision therapy, working with both children and adults with eye co-ordination and visual perceptual problems.
Laurie has three terrific children and the whole family enjoys hiking, skiing, biking and kayaking together.
Dr. Jill Bridges (nee McKechnie) was born in Calgary, Alberta. After graduating from Western Canada High School she attended Queens University in Kingston, Ontario. Jill then received her Doctorate of Optometry in 1987 from the University of Waterloo in Ontario and has practiced in Calgary ever since. She opened City Focus Optometry in 1997, operating the practice as a solo practitioner for 10 years, until being joined by Drs. Laurie Dodds, Annie Drouin and Lori Lukey.
Jill enjoys a broad scope of practice but has a special interest in contact lenses. She works very closely with the Alberta Children's Hospital customizing contact lenses for infants and toddlers. As well, she has achieved success fitting contacts for people with corneal diseases and high prescriptions.
Jill enjoys her family life with her husband, son and dog. No one seems to be able to sit still for very long in the Bridges family! They love to ski, spend time at the lake, hike and travel.
Dr. Annie Drouin was born and raised in a small town southeast of Quebec City, in the province of Quebec. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Montreal in 1995. Shortly afterwards she moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where she practiced for four years.

Annie enjoys a broad scope of practice. She particularly likes working with children and has a special interest in vision therapy and contact lenses. She always welcomes an opportunity to speak French or Spanish with her patients and now offers eye exams in French.
When Annie is not working, she is busy trying to keep up with her husband and their three little boys. Together they enjoy an active family life, filled with lots of sports and outdoor activities.
Dr. Lori Lukey was born and raised in small town Saskatchewan where she learned the value of community and care for others. After graduating in 1987 from the University of Waterloo, she moved back to her native Saskatchewan to work for a few years. Realizing her love of the mountains Dr. Lukey moved to Calgary where for 15 years she owned and operated a rural and urban optometry practise with a team of 4 optometrists.
In 2008 after a sabbatical Dr. Lukey joined her classmate Dr. Jill Bridges at City Focus Optometry where she continues to enjoy serving her patients with all their visual needs.
Over the years Dr. Lukey has enjoyed traveling to developing countries to take her optometry skills to those in need. She continues to enjoy the mountains and travel with her husband and friend of many years, but she still loves returning to her home province of Saskatchewan to visit family and friends.

She often volunteers at CUPS Optometry clinic and hope to be able to do more for the community. For leisure, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, jogging, and drinking a great cup of coffee.
